The Port of Lancaster

The Lancaster Port Commission is the Local Light Authority for the River Lune, and the Harbour Master surveys the navigable channel between River Lune No 1 Buoy and the entrance to Glasson Dock regularly; maintaining and deploying port and starboard buoys to reflect the channel’s current position.

Notices to Mariners are issued to promulgate information about buoy position changes and buoy/light casualties, and are distributed via email. If you wish to receive Notices to Mariners in this way, please send your email address to admin@lancasterport.org

The Lancaster Port Commission also publishes an up-to-date Buoy Positions List and a Leisure Passage Plan, copies of which are available from the Port Office.
